I can remember my first meeting with Guru Doug Pierre, i was introduced to him by a older lady who lived in the complex he worked in as a maintenance man. I knew from our first meeting this was divine interventions!!!! I had previously gone thru some traumatic events that had left me feeling unsure of myself & less confident plus i was a young single mother looking for direction.

       Upon our meeting he informed me he was going to open up a school in the East Village? I inquired about the exact location turns out it a block away from where i was currently living. I cried because i knew this was a sign from GOD ALMIGHTY himself. I was one of the first women students he has ever taught that was in 1997. Today 2017 20yrs later i now have 3 sons who have all been students in Doug Pierre's school. He is our family SIFU-TEACHER!!! 

        Since this time i have regained my self esteem more confidence than i ever had but what's the best thing is that thru him I became spiritually stronger. He didn't just teach me kickboxing & judo but he trained me mentally to become a warrior. He taught me self discipline he taught me that i could anything i put my mind to. He taught me how to control my spirit and most of all he taught me to NEVER FEAR ANYTHING BUT GOD ALMIGHTY.

      I truly love this man this teacher my friend/mentor.

        I have since done so many wonderful things in my life...entered a few competitions as well as my children. I have brought new students adults/children to take part in his teaching & the great program he offers at his school for women & small children.

           Within the next year i am looking to train as a stick fighter under Sifu Doug Pierre. Life has been a challenge but I have learned there's no problem too big for THE MOST HIGH & with persistance and determination ALL things are possible & can be accomplished but one must work hard to achieve any goal that one pursues....the determining force is YOU!!!

Thanks Sifu for being a great teacher to my sons Kris, Prince, and Elijah and me! The wisdom and knowledge you have instilled has helped us all grow and be better students and people within our LOWER EASTSIDE community and where ever we go in LIFE....TRULY & SINCERLY I THANK YOU!!!
